Kindergarten/First Grade Team Teaching Loop

Our kindergarten class works as one team. Mrs. Gariboldi is the lead math/science teacher and Mrs. Parker is the lead literacy teacher. We both have a passion for working with young children and creating an environment that encourages cooperation. It is our goal to have children become life long learners!

October 9

Today during math we played a roll and record game. The purpose was to practice number writing. They are really starting to blossom in this area. They also had a special guest come visit them. Her name was Miss Count. Boy, Miss Count has a tough time counting objects accurately! We have officially been in school for 31 days and the children have learned about making groups of ten. They made 3 groups of ten sticks and added one more to make 31. We also went to the forest today to see if we could locate our quiet spots from last week. We made observations about our own special spots and will be journaling about those spots tomorrow. In literacy we read Miss Rumphius, one of our favorite stories! We made connections to our three cares. This afternoon we went outside to plant lupine seeds, just like Miss Rumphius, to make the world more beautiful!
